Shaky Bridge winery is located in the stunningly beautiful Alexandra Basin of Central Otago, New Zealand. Their source vineyards are situated below the 45th Parallel in the southern most wine growing region on the globe. Their location is ideally suited to the creation of the aromatic varieties of white wine, alongside Pinot Noir which is their primary variety.

Sourcing fruit from 6 distinct blocks that vary in age from 10 - 30+ years, Shaky Bridge Winery owns one of the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards in Central Otago. The various locations, soil types and clones used within each block provide winemaker, Dave Grant, with a virtual painters pallet of flavors to create multi dimensional wines of exceptional quality, depth and satisfaction.

Dave Grant - owner/winemaker is the son of founders Bill and Gill Grant, Dave was literally born on the Home Block and helped his parents out in the early years of planting vineyards on the Dunstan Road site. Raised in Alexandra, Dave went on to study Mining Engineering at Otago University where he earned an Honors degree. Following graduation, he moved to Australia working as a product specialist in explosives and living in the Australian Outback for several years. In 1995 an opportunity saw Dave return home to manage the vineyards and establish a winery on the Home Block. Studying winemaking through EIT in Hawkes Bay, he began making wine in 1997 and has worked with a number of highly skilled winemakers from around the world over the years. Dave was a finalist in the New Zealand Winemaker of the Year awards in 2005. His philosophy on winemaking stems from his belief that the best wines are crafted by allowing the wines to speak for themselves.
